Angus is a qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor (MCI) and trained ICF Transformational Coach based in North Wales. He has been instructing for 7 years, climbing for 15 years, and has climbed 9a on sport, E9 on trad, 8A boulders and many big walls. Angus is passionate about helping people push themselves, whatever their level, and it’s no surprise that he’s always been interested in the psychological side of climbing. He’s been teaching fall practice with Hazel for the past two years and can answer any questions related to fall practice and technical/safety issues. Angus offers in-person performance coaching, instruction with technical/trad skills, and fear of falling coaching.
As a Strong Mind Coach, Angus can offer one-to-one support with all of the Strong Mind courses. He has plenty of experience working with clients remotely and in-person on fall practice and fear of falling. Angus practises a non-directive model of coaching which, in combination with Strong Mind course content and climbing and instructing experience, allows him to work in a balanced coach-mentor role with clients. This means that clients’ individual experience is always the focus of a session, but they also benefit from the expertise and experience of a professional.
